NANOMER Exchange Program 2026: connecting research between Europe and Latin America
Open call: international mobility in nanoscience
The NANOMER project continues to strengthen international cooperation between Europe and Latin America through its 2026 Exchange Program, an initiative designed to promote academic mobility and research development in nanoscience.
In this new edition, MSc and PhD students from Latin American institutions will have the opportunity to carry out research internships in leading European universities, joining high-level scientific projects and enhancing their academic experience in an international environment.
Research projects in European universities
For 2026, the program offers 17 research projects across 6 European universities, covering areas such as:
- Nanoscience
- Nanotechnology
- Nanomaterials
- Energy and sustainability
Each internship will last 3 months, starting in September 2026, allowing students to actively engage with established research groups.
Funding and program conditions
The program includes financial support to facilitate student participation:
- Approximately €2500 for travel expenses
- €1500 per month during the internship
This funding structure ensures suitable conditions for academic and research development throughout the mobility period.
Key dates
- Call opening: March 12 – 25, 2026
- Preselection of candidates: March 30
- Interviews: April 14
- Final results: before April 20
This timeline has been designed to support visa procedures, administrative processes, and funding availability.
Who can apply?
The program is mainly addressed to:
- MSc students
- PhD candidates
Exceptionally, advanced undergraduate students or postdoctoral researchers may be considered.
Selection criteria include:
- Academic excellence
- Alignment with selected projects
- Motivation and career projection
- Institutional support
- Commitment to inclusion and diversity
Application requirements
Applications must be submitted through the official form and include:
- Curriculum Vitae (Europass format)
- Motivation letter, including academic interests, objectives, and alignment with selected projects
- Recommendation letter from a supervisor or institution
Additionally, applicants must:
- Select four projects in order of preference
- Demonstrate B1 English level (mandatory for projects in France)
- Provide explicit institutional endorsement
