Open calls and new training opportunities in nanoscience

The NanoAndes and Nanomer community continues to strengthen its international academic network through new opportunities for training, scientific exchange, and pedagogical collaboration in nanoscience.

Following the momentum generated by the XIV NanoAndes International School and the I Nanomer School 2025, we continue expanding spaces that connect researchers, professors, and students from Latin America and the Caribbean around the development of nanotechnology and its applications

Nanomer / NanoAndes Webinar Cycle 2026

During 2026 we will develop the Nanomer/NanoAndes Webinar Cycle, a series of virtual meetings aimed at maintaining active academic exchange within the network and continuing the scientific dialogue initiated during NanoAndes Chile 2025.

The webinars will take place every two weeks, alternating between Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at the following times:

10:00 AM – Argentina / Chile (UTC-3)
8:00 AM – Ecuador (UTC-5)

This schedule will remain fixed throughout the cycle in order to facilitate participation from institutions across the network.

This session will provide a general introduction to the Moodle platform, including course navigation, organization of learning materials, and basic tools for managing teaching content.

Call for Training Module Proposals

XV NanoAndes School – II Nanomer Pedagogical School

II NanoAndes-Nanomer Workshop

The call is now open for submitting proposals for pedagogical workshops and hands-on activities as part of the upcoming edition of the School.

The XV NanoAndes International School 2026 – II Nanomer School and II NanoAndes-Nanomer Workshop will take place from November 5 to 13, 2026, at the Instituto Balseiro and Centro Atómico Bariloche, in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina.

The NanoAndes schools promote an active, collaborative, and experimental training environment aimed at students and educators interested in the current frontiers of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Complementarily, the Nanomer schools are developed transversally with a pedagogical approach, strengthening teaching and learning skills in nanosciences through educational workshops and innovative methodologies.

Topics of the 2026 Edition

The program will address several topics within the field of nanotechnology, including:

  • nanomaterials applied to energy, health, and environment
  • artificial intelligence and nanotechnology
  • quantum devices
  • 2D materials and thin films
  • nanoparticles, nanotubes, and nanowires
  • microfabrication
  • characterization of nanostructures
  • numerical modeling and simulation of nanomaterials

Types of Activities That Can Be Proposed

Proposals should consist of theoretical-practical sessions in one of the following formats:

  • short workshops of approximately 2 hours
  • extended workshops of up to four modules of 4 hours each

Activities may include:

  • experimental workshops
  • guided laboratory practices
  • demonstrations with active student participation
  • interdisciplinary experiences related to the nanoscale

Proposals must include:

  • tentative title
  • objectives
  • activity description
  • technical requirements
  • estimated duration

📅 Submission deadline: March 31, 2026

The organizing committee will communicate the results of the selection before April 30, 2026. Professors selected to deliver workshops will have priority to present their work at the II NanoAndes-Nanomer Workshop.
