Nanomer strengthens its network and projects concrete results for 2026

General Assembly, Annual Review, and Strategic Decisions 
 

On December 16, 2025, the Nanomer Consortium – Nanosciences with Latin America: Sharing Knowledge through Pedagogical Innovation – held its First General Assembly, a key forum for reviewing progress, making strategic decisions, and strengthening collaborative work between Europe and Latin America. During the session, progress on all Work Packages (WPs) was presented, highlighting the institutional commitment, academic quality, and growing impact of the project.

A new partner joins the consortium 
 

The Assembly unanimously approved the addition of the Catholic University of Maule (UCM, Chile) as a new partner in the Nanomer project. This addition strengthens the academic network, expands the consortium's territorial reach, and consolidates regional and intercontinental cooperation.

Progress by Work Package

WP1 Project Management and Coordination: During 2025, WP1 ensured the proper scientific, administrative, financial, and legal management of the project. Key achievements: organization of the Kick-off Meeting, 3 Steering Committees, and 1 General Assembly; coordination of the 

WP8 student workshop in Lyon; financial transfers to partners; monitoring of deliverables; and ongoing communication with the European Project Officer. 2026 

Projection: preparation of the Mid-term Report (June 2026) and organization of the complete governance calendar.

WP3 Collaborative digital platform: Nanomer's collaborative platform continues to grow as an open training space.

Key results: 99 accounts created, with 75 active users from 10 countries, a diverse community of teachers and students, and 35 courses created, with automatic enrollment of Summer School students.

WP4 / WP5 Nanomer and NanoAndes Summer Schools: The 1st Nanomer School and the 14th NanoAndes School (Santiago, Chile, November 2025) marked a milestone for the project. They included 60 students and 49 teachers (22 international), participants from 13 countries, 7 masterclasses, 19 practical workshops, 3 thematic forums, and 1 poster session. The program also integrated a dual training model, combining scientific excellence and pedagogical innovation.

 

 

We are preparing for the XV NanoAndes School & II Nanomer School – 2026

Bariloche, Argentina

WP7 Staff Training in International Cooperation: Nanomer promotes the training of administrative staff in international cooperation. Program led by Sorbonne Université, with ENS Lyon and UPV. 4 mobility opportunities available, funded with travel and accommodation expenses. 4 participants selected from Ecuador, Argentina, and Bolivia.

 

WP8 Student Mobility and Exchange Program

The exchange program progressed with the participation of 9 students from Latin America in universities in France and Spain.

 

 

 

WP9 Communication and Dissemination: The communication strategy strengthened the project's identity and reach.

  • Creation and management of two official platforms: LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Over 40 digital publications, including news, artwork, videos, and testimonials.
  • Over 20 videos managed, with curation, descriptions, and playlists.
  • 10+ scientific playlists organized by topic.
  • 5 newsletter editions, 15 web publications, and 205 emails sent.

Looking to the future

The General Assembly reaffirmed that Nanomer is progressing as a solid, collaborative and expanding academic network, with a real impact on training, mobility, pedagogy and scientific communication.
