Nanomer consolidates partnerships and prepares its first schools

Strategic meetings in Europe strengthen NANOMER

On behalf of the NANOMER project, Belén Albela, International Management Coordinator, took part in meetings with Spanish universities (May–June 2025) and with French partner universities (July 2025).
These meetings advanced key topics for the consortium, such as:

  • Coordination of upcoming joint activities.
  • Strengthening ties between European and Latin American partners.
  • Defining support mechanisms for student and staff mobility.

Thanks to this collaborative work, the foundations for stronger international cooperation are being consolidated, ensuring the quality and relevance of the planned actions within NANOMER..

ENS Lyon open educational platform

The Nanomer Moodle platform is now available!
This virtual space gathers courses and training materials open to the entire community, with no university enrollment required. Highlights include:

  • Material porosity
  • Molecular modeling and simulation
  • Synthesis of titanium oxide and semiconductor nanoparticles
  • Microscopy techniques (SEM) and X-ray scattering
  • Nanophotonics and applications

Progress toward the 1st Summer School in Chile

Hosted by the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Chile, the 14th NanoAndes International School and the 1st Nanomer Pedagogical School are making strong progress in their preparation.
Core topics:

  • Environment
  • Artificial intelligence and nanotechnology
  • Nanomaterials for drugs, diagnostics, and therapy
  • Pollution by nano/micromaterials
  • Nanophotonics and applications

Scholarship call for the first Nanomer School

The call attracted 208 applications from 11 Latin American countries.
A Scientific Committee of 24 international experts evaluated the applications, selecting 60 students based on criteria of excellence, thematic relevance, motivation, and gender equity.

Countries with the highest participation:

  • Ecuador (57)
  • Chile (38)
  • Argentina (34)
  • Brazil (26)
  • Colombia (17)

This strong interest reflects the regional importance of the school in training new generations in nanoscience.

Academic and pedagogical program

The schedule integrates scientific and pedagogical training with activities such as:

  • Theoretical lectures by experts.
  • Theoretical–practical workshops in nanoscience and pedagogy.
  • Collaborative learning forum with teachers.
  • Scientific poster sessions.
  • Daily pedagogical reflection spaces.
